This is the end...

Well, It’s the end of another level of English in Universidad de Chile and it’s very difficult to say how was the subject in this semester because we have bad conditions, mainly for the schedule because it’s very late if we consider that we enter to the university past the 9 o’clock in the morning. It’s more than 12 hours in the university! I think that only a few of classes are good in this conditions. We have 2 classes in the week, in the first we write on our blogs and in the other we have a practical class. It’s a good system but the problem is the translates because we have to gone to Bachillerato.

In the theme of the blogs, it’s a good tool to practice our English in a comfortable schedule. We have wrote blogs about our friends, our city, our first day in the university, gifts, opinion of different things like the ballots. It’s a good form to work but it’s not new because I have to wrote in this in the last semester. I think that we can take advantage of the careers that we study, like journalism to make a blog about this, with different information’s or jobs in English. In the case of the students of cinema, they can make more videos.

I think that the schedule of the classes can be more comfortable to the students because in the evening we are more tired. Other thing that can improve is the coordination to use the computer in the practical classes because we always have problems to see movies for example.

I use the English mainly to know the things that say the songs and in my career, to read another webs and international press. Almost the things are written in English and in this world, we have to learn this language.

Life is beautiful also in the worse moments

There is a different type of movies that I like. For example, I like some of love, war, fiction, comedy, drama, accion, etc. I think that in general, I like the movies that have a historic context. Movies like El Padrino, Cinema Paradiso, La Vida es Bella, etc.

For this exercise, I take the last, La Vida es Bella (La vita è bella). This is a movie that shows a true history of the bad moments that have to lived the jewish people. I like the history and I enjoy the films that show things that I don’t know that happened. The form that the film mix a love story with a tragedy it’s a interesting offer to see because also have a lot of funny moments.

I don’t know the moment that I watched, I think that I seen this in the school, but I’m not sure.This movie is from 1997, i think that I watched in 2003.

I don’t have a good memory to remember the actors in the movies, but in this I make trap, the principal actors are Roberto Benigni, Nicoletta Braschi, Giorgio Cantarini, in other. All of they italians. This is other aspect that I like, because it’s a factor of reality, it’s different see it with American actors for example. The language it’s a important factor.

Chile vote

I think that the politic is an elemental thing on our lifes because we need a form to organize the society. Since 2008 that I vote, in that occasion I have to register in the municipality because the system of automatic inscription it’s new.

This municipal elections are my third time that I voted.  I think that it’s the minimum thing that we have to do because we have rights and responsibilities. Besides, I think that Chile is different; I think that Chile is waking up in politic terms. All the different marchs and opinion in the social networks we have to convert in participation.

I like the days of the elections, it’s very good that the people go out and feels that are important in the decision of the country. This recently election are very interesting because mayors like Labbe, Zalaquett, Sabat, Espinoza, etc, are out of their municipalities, is very unexpected and reflect that participate in this are a real option to make changes.

Obviously that we have to change many things about the political system, but it’s a process that we have to cooperate. We have to be citizens with opinion and control to our authority, I think that the people that don’t vote in this time thinks better to the next election his decision.  It’s a powerful arm if we use correctly. Besides, we are journalism and we have to act like a other power, the fourth power.

Chilean V.I.P

In the History of Chile, we have a lot of important characters who have made different things in the country.
We have an important people in different areas like: Politic, Music, Sports, and in other things. For example in the first area I’d talk about Jose Miguel Carrera, a dreamer of Chile; in the Music, I’d talk of Violeta Parra and Jorge Gonzalez; in the sports, I’d talk about Elias Figueroa, Marcelo Salas.

Talk about “the” greatest Chilean of all time I think that it’s very unfair. But I think that in the sports happens things very special because almost all the people of the country knows about they and specially one: Elias Figueroa.

He is the best player of football of Chile, but now he is retired. He played in Chile, Uruguay (Peñarol) and Brazil (Internacional) and won too many championships and he converted in a idol, not only in Chile, in the country of the samba and the oriental country. 

The people that know about football says that he is the best defender in the world with Franz Beckenbauer. The conditions of him are very amazing of this defender. their height combined with his abilities to play football. He is very popular for play with elegance and with aggressive if the occasion required it. 
But, Elias Figueroa, isn’t only one of the greatest Chilean of all time for the conditions for the football, he is a awesome person, he is a gentlemen of the football, and that is the best characteristic.

The training for the exam

Well, in this class I have done different activities to practise my english for the exam.

There were four tematics to practice, the Reading, Listening, Vocabulary and Lenguaje.

For the first one, I didn't have problems because this is a usuall activity to do in the english classes. But, in the next, I could not done it because in the computers of the university I couldn't listen the audio, but I want to do it in my home.

The Vocabulary was very interesting and I think that i did it well, I just have wrong answers in some questions.

And, finally, in the Lenguaje, It's was very difficult because I had to write a letter but only with the correct words of the page and sometimes I didn't know whats word are in there. Normally I don't have problems because I can write the ideas and the words that I know.

A Blue Gift

We have many gifts that we like in our like, specially, when we are young, because we received a lot of toys and valuable things. But, one of my favorite presents it’s a t-shirt. It’s not a common t-shirt; it is white and it has tree blue lines in the sleeveds and a blue collar with a red edge. Yes, it’s Adidas, and it’s a sport clothe. The most important part it’s the chest with a big red “U” in the left and a owl in the right. The officially second t-shirt of the football team, Universidad de Chile.  

The important of this is who gave it to me, my girlfriend Claudia for my birthday.  This gift has a detail too, the gift-paper, because it was blue with a red rose, the detail of a lady. I think that always I “dreamed” that a girlfriend gave to me a t-shirt of my team of football, this are very expensive. All of my life I am a fan of Universidad de Chile, and I have only a few of t-shirts of this club.

I don’t like the false t-shirts in the football, and Claudia understood this very well. After this, I almost always goes with this t-shirt to the stadium, and obviously, with her. 

My second First Time

I have two first time in the universities. The first was in Adolfo Ibañez in 2009, because I begin studing Bussines and Administration, but I didn't like the university in the high lands of Santiago. I hate the people of this, sons of his rich daddys.

In the next year, I entered to Journalism in Universidad de Chile, yes it's very different but not much also, because I didn't have science. I remember this year like one of my best years of my life, and the beginning was the best.

With my classmates we joined before the academic year in the same university. For the great Earthquake of 2010 in this year we started classes later than usuall. We bought too many alcoholic drinks and we met in the grass of the university. We were almost the complete course and we had a very good time.

This meeting was a week before than we started oficially the university and obviously it's makes more easy to beginning a new year because the majority of the course had met each other.

I remember that I spoke with Ester, Felipe, Nicolas, Daniela, Eva, and more classmates. I think that we always remember this meeting, althought some people were drunk. jaja.

The real first day of the university ? That's boring and usuall comparate with this.-.

Country and Chile

This Fiestas Patrias was very different to my other's Fiestas Patrias. I always have this celebrities in my home or in somewhere of Santiago. But, In this time I gone to Talca, in the south of Chile.

This idea was born because, for my job (cover the football match between Universidad de Chile vs Rangers) I have to go to this city, and my girlfriend have family in the nearly in the country. I goes with cousins of my girlfriend because she gone to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and she arrived the next day.

It's was my first time in the country of my girlfriend, and it's was very good. The family was very nice and we prepared the fonda next to the house.

I ate very much, and obviously I drinked, but with tranquility. In this country I discover the affection of the people of the country, always they wanna that I drink and eat more and more, jeje.

I have been five days in the country, I remember two nights that we dancing different music like cumbias, rancheras and reggaeton. In another, we played football, fly a kite, and played typical games like races of sacks, gymkhana. ¡I won a competion of this!The other thing that I done is ride a horse, it's was my first time.

I enjoyed very much this Fiestas Patrias because I have a different landscape, and different culture. I think that i discover another Chile, the real and the typical Chile of the country, because the life in the city it's very different and difficult. 

Friends!

I think that it`s a little gay talk about a friend, specially that he is a man. It`s weird but also interesting to remember.

I would like to present two very good friends. The first is Manuel Castillo, called "Manacho", he always have different and funny things to do. Fisically, he is very small, like 1.66 meters, he are a very style man with a special personality .

I don't remember exactly the form that we have converted in friends, but we met for the age 2004 in the neighbor of La Florida. The music and the movies was a good form to talk more and we started to be very good friends. We like very much the films of Tarantino, Inglourious Bastards, Pulp Fiction, etc, the films of Kubric, Woody Allen, etc. In the music we have in common bands like The Libertines, Turf, Oasis, in many other bands.

Around the year 2007, he invited me to the south of Chile, to his house of grandfathers nearly to Valdivia. This trip was the first trip to the south and to the lakes. We have many memories that we remember and laugh sometimes.

The second is Jose Manuel Farias, called "Pepe". I met this guy since we are children, we lived in La Florida in the same street. With Pepe, we have many stories but we are great friends. It's weird but we don't have many things in commom but we have a very good feeling, we respect the other and have many things to laugh.

I always remember when I was very sad for a difficult decision in my life and he don`t have problems to talk with me in the night. With the time we have feeling more thing in common, like the music and other things.

I saw my friends minimum once a week. Often we have parties in the weekends,

Santiago rides

Santiago is a big city in Chile. Some much people talk about this city like "Chile", "Santiago is Chile" because in this city live's the most people of the country.

We have poverty and richness but, I don't wanna talk about this. We have to see the beautiful things of this city. If you have a bike, you love the cicle paths, specially in Providencia. We have so many of these in many streets.

You have liberty, you don't have to wait a bus or a taxi. The transport in Santiago it's very expensive, it's one of the most expensive of Latin American.

I dislike Santiago in this themes, because we don't have cicle paths in all the communes, it's like a privilege for the more richness people. We have to think that the majority of the people don't have so many money to pay the buses, but we don't have another alternative.

Slowly the city is thinking more about this alternative, we don't contaminate, we do exercise, it's a cheap and fast vehicle to use to our works, study or anything.

English blog

I never had a blog in English but I always thought about it to practice this lenguage. In this blog I wrote about many things related with me and my preferences. I enjoyed this activity but I hate it also because not always we are inpired to write.

It's a good activity but also it's difficult. I usually had to use the dictionary and ask for sentences in Spanish expressed in English. My favourite subjects in my blog are the sports and my work to La Magia Azul. It's a important subject for me because it's the work that a like to do in the journalism.But, not always I posted about the sports, I have do it in objetcts like my cellphone, the parties in the ICEI, photographies, and other posts.

I think that for this activity I improve my English in a entertaining way. Almost the classes of English are so boring with typical activities in a book, but this is more interactive to learn English.  This is a clear adventage of this methodology. It's so much better learn English practice it like in the real life than a teacher with his book. We can have more activities related with our degree. For example, like a student of journalism, we can have a program of radio in English, a paper or a program of tv.

ICEI's rock

"Descoontroooool uooooo", this is one of the hits that sounds in the ICEI's parties. These parties are very special because these are in the same university, at the hole of the school of cinema and television called populary "El Hoyo". Definitely, we have two parties in the semester, one on the begin and other in the last part of the semester.

In this activities, we have a lot of alcoholic drinks, principally (in the summer) "Tropical", white wine with a pineaple drink or others, with Ron or Pisco. (Yes, we drink in the university). This is very nice because we don't have to pay another place to drink and have parties like in the other universities. Daddy Yankee isn't the unique artist, we have a lot of variety like brasilian music, cumbia, electronic and obviously, reggaeton.

These partys are very special in the ICEI, all the students have stayed in one of this at least. A lot of relationships have starts and a lot of funny conversations about these to remember all the life. Occasionaly we have problems, principally for drink so much, but it's funny too. If do you want to go, you have to think only in have a funny moment with your university friends.

The sports of El Mercurio

The sports and most of all, the football, it's a passion in my life and for my career. I'm working in a program called La Magia Azul and it's works is follow only the club Universidad de Chile. But, I like very much the work of El Mercurio in the section of sports. If you have a account you can see it in www.mer.cl.

This seccion its apart of the diary and it's have around 10 pages and depends of the context. For example, in the end of may, the Worldcup of Football in Chile celebrate fifty years from the first match. The section was design like the newspaper in the 60's. Obviously, in this case the information is about the tematic of the worldcup.

Normally, this newspaper has all the information of the football and the other sports. News of the principal teams of Chile, of the world, interviews, and different informations about the sports. This work is very serious with very much coverage and creative to talk about the different themes.Also, it has a guide of the transmision of the sport on TV. Oh, the photographs are very good too, always speak by themselves related with the theme

"Favourite" book

After a very long long time thinking about what its my favourite book, (I don't remember the title of a book),... But, I also think that I need read more books, I'm very depress that I can't do this activity. I remember that in the school I read so many books for my by me. I remember books of Mario Vargas Llosa, history's book, and different novels.

Well, in some many time, my favourite book was "Mp3", a book of more than 10 stories related with songs. Songs like "Girls and boys" of Blur, "I'm waiting for the night to fall" of Depeche Mode, "Pinball Wizard" of The Who, and another tracks. These are very young stories and for my age at the school are very good. The tittle was the most interesting because it's very funny tell to my parents, friends and brothers that I'm reading a book called "Mp3".

The idea is very interesting, a mix of songs related with music. It's and activity that all we can write. So many songs and moments we remember with a track of music and in this book are nine stories. The best story of this book for my is "Pinball Wizard", it's a very young and exiting story of a drunk guy . The other story that I like is one of a girl with many sexual potential (I don't remember the title)

Pablo Illanes isn't the writer of this book, he is the editor. This book was made in 2003, and it have 228 pages.

The dancing stars

One of my favourite pictures is this, the move of the earth and the stars in a photo. This type of pictures are called "diurnal motion" and require so much time. In my classes of photograpy, I saw this picture and I felt really moved me, I didn't know that we can take this photos.

Joshua Bury it's a science geek and he took this photo at september 9 of 2009. It's very interesting the astronomy but only for look it, not work in the Nasa and nothing, jaja.

The stars are dancing in the sky. Coming soon I'm going to try this tipe of photos, I only need a blanket and a long night with a good camera -and if I got company, better-.

Chile has many observatories, we have a good sky to take this type of photos.

JGM Tips!

1- In many ocassions, in the streets around the University happen protests. This area has many conflict with students of diferent universities, UTEM, UMCE and UCH. My tip is get a lemon and put in your pack for any problem, the tear gas are very toxic.

2- The campus JGM, is not only for the study. It's a very special place where you can also have a party, specially in friday. The grass in the campus is the place to share with friends and drink beers or another drink. In ICEI, the partys in the "Hoyo" -in the  -1 floor- are the best.

3- After construction of the Bicentennian Plan, we missed a tradicional field to play soccer, the "Calama" field. I recommed you ask in the gym for the multi fields, there are near of the Faculty of Socials. You can play Basketball, football and Tenis.

"Nobody can change his passion"

Melancholy, suspense and passion. These are the principal things that I like from the movie "El Secreto de sus ojos" (The secret in their ayes). This is a argentinian film from 2009 with Ricardo Darin like the principal actor. Usually the films with he are very good, and this isn't the exception.

Benjamin Esposito (Darin) wants to write a book of a story of many years ago. A criminal situation that marks his work and life. He fell in love with a partner (Irene) and the past of time can't erase this. Remembering this situation, the movie recreates the incredible facts. The football, obviously are related for the passion. I like very much a escene that speak of this. "Nobody can change his passion", it's the slogan for the life on this movie.

I really recomend this movie, the story it very scheming.

The power of internet

Without doubt, my favorite peace of technology it's my smarthphone. I always had modest cellphones before, because I only needed to talk, not to conect to internet and take photos.


Six months ago I bought it's, but I had an accident. I was assaulted and I lost my first smarthphone. Inmediately I goes for another mobile because I needed to my work.


I always use this for take photos to post on the internet, facebook or twitter and for see my email. It's important to keep informed. Besides the functions to work, in my smarthphone I can listen music and chat with friends.. The only bad thing is because the long-life battery it's doesn't last very much.


 Today, I'm accustomed to live with its, the power of internet its amazing and it's important to use in our life.     

Teo in Lollapalooza !

I have go to too many concerts to remember, but I`m going to tell you about the last concert I went, Lollapalooza. For this concert, at first I was not going but in the last day I'm decided to go. This festival was 1 and 2 of april in the O'Higgins Park. I like too much the festivals, the ambient it so cool. Long and good shows. I remember specially four shows of this: Gustavo Cordera, Los Tetas, 31 Minutos and Arctic Monkeys. The show of Cordera was too funny because he undress. the second was so cold because is a great chilean band that plays again after a rupture. 31 Minutos was so curious because this was a puppet show with good musicians. Arctic Monkeys was a really experience, in the end of the show i finish soaking wet! During all the show I jumped and sang with the public. After this were one of my favorite bands, but I dont forgive the songs.

AUTO BIOGRAPHIE

My full name is Aristeo Andrés Alarcón and all of my life, since 1990, I have lived in La Florida, Santiago. I have three brothers, two sisters and one brother: Paulina, Marcela and Jose Luis. They are older like me for a long time, and before the people thinks that my brothers are my parents, because when I was born, Jose Luis and Paulina were 19 and 18 years respectively, age to have a child no? My name is weird, my parent and my grandfather were Aristeo, it's like a legacy from they.Today I am studying Journalism in the Universidad de Chile at third year and also I'm work in a magazine called La Magia Azul nine months ago. It's really cool work in a magazine because I meet the players of the Football Club Universidad de Chile.


My hobbies are watch football and go to the stadium when Universidad de Chile plays. But I dont go like a a fan for my work, and i do like a journalist. I usually participate at the transmision of radio Universidad de Chile in the program La Magia Azul like a reporter of pitch. Obviously I like to play football, I'm not very talent, but I'm responsibly and always plays with passion. I think that for these reason I plays in the selection of my carreer.

This is a part of my life, sometimes I feel weird with my classmates because I dont have the same time like the to go to partys or only stay in the University to share with they. But, in my work I have learn very much things and I have meet too many people.
